Outdoor Play
Sherwood Green Nursery recognise the benefits of the children being outdoor for sustained periods of time to allow children to learn whilst developing their physical and mental health. We provide daily opportunities to play outdoors for all our children come rain or shine.
Makaton
Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech, in spoken word order.
Woodwork Classes
Sherwood Green Nursery offer Woodworking to all children in our Pre-school room. Our Woodworking sessions provide a unique learning experience for children, they encompass creative thinking, problem solving, maths and science skills as well as developing eye-hand coordination and language.
Cookery Classes
Our cookery classes teach the importance of healthy eating as part of a healthy lifestyle, the children learn the essential life skills so that later in life they are able to support their own health and well-being with tasty and nutritious meals.

About Us
I’m Emilia Olkowska, the Director and owner of Sherwood Green Nursery. I am a mother to three boys. In 2017 I was pregnant with my second child and was struggling to find childcare for my one year old that suited my required times and needs of childcare. As a parent myself and speaking to many other parents I fully understood the needs of parents and children and soon realised that there was a gap in high quality childcare that’s flexible, affordable and delivered with the highest of standards.

At Sherwood Green Nursery, we promote healthy eating. We recognise the important part a healthy diet plays for a child’s wellbeing and their ability to learn and achieve. We believe that the nursery, in partnership with parents and carers, can make a major contribution to improving children’s and young children’s health by increasing their knowledge and understanding of food and helping them to make healthy food choices. We aim to ensure that healthier food and drink is provided at all times of day, taking account of individual needs (e.g. cultural, ethical, medical).

Sherwood Green Nursery have introduced The Blossom Educational Parent App, and interactive app that allows parents a safe network to access information about their child’s day at a time suits them.
The Blossom Educational App helps us at Sherwood Green Nursery document your child’s activities so as a parent you will be able to watch your child grow and develop in fun and exciting ways. Our staff upload videos and photos and parents can then log on and view their activity. At the same time, parents can contribute to their child’s learning journey and make notes for their key person, helping to build relationships between families and the nursery.
